Say ‘aahhh.’ That’s all we have to do today. Relax…explore…or snore?
So let’s do a little catching up on a few photos:

Today we carpool to Umpqua River Lighthouse where we will be treated to a lighthouse and museum tour.
Lunch will be at the Schooner Cafe adjacent to the museum. We do like to eat and we like convenience.
Dinner is on our own (can we handle that?), followed by carpooling to the live melodrama at the Sawdust Theatre in Coquille. The Sawdust Theatre is a community effort “that puts on a high-quality repertoire of interactive melodrama, with numerous olios (hodgepodge/miscellany) throughout an evening's performance.” We are a hodgepodge group, so we’ll fit right in…and have fun!

Caravan to Coos Bay today (204 miles), with a rest stop at Seven Feathers Casino in Canyonville for lunch before we continue on to The Mill Casino RV Park. We will enjoy dinner tonight in a private dining room of the hotel. Wow! Sounds like a plan…

And let there be fun---a motorhome scavenger hunt. One item needed from the list, but not found: red bra. What? No one had one? No sirree, so JeanAnn Miller thought she would improvise with a little assistance from Sandy Bell. Everyone got a good laugh out of that one!
Louise Boulton made a good hood, um, raft ornament…and got the wettest going over the rapids on our float trip.
And fearless leader Stan Jones has now become a certified tree hugger…

We begin our carpool to Crater Lake at 8:45 this morning, where we will enjoy the scenic vistas all around Crater Lake by trolley.
First off, Mount Mazama was the tallest peak in Oregon at 12,000 feet. Then it had a huge eruption around 5400 B.C. After the eruption was over, the caldera rim of Crater Lake had an elevation from 7,000 to 8,000 feet. The eruption was estimated to have spewed 12 cubic miles of rock over the area. We will be able to see where that 5,000 feet of mountain landed when Mount Mazama had this sudden 5,000 foot change in elevation. The caldera was formed that became Crater Lake. It is estimated that it took 720 years to fill the lake to its present depth.
Lunch will be enjoyed at the Annie Creek Restaurant. Returning to the RV park, we will visit Rogue Gorge Viewpoint, and Natural Bridge along the Rouge River.
Chuck Wagon dinner of hot dogs and hamburgers at the campground, followed by entertainment…karaoke. We’ll see who can carry a tune…or not! Adult beverages might help.
Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines! We travel 117 miles to our next stop, Crater Lake RV Park. They have wifi! YES!!!
Dinner tonight will be at Prospect Historic Hotel, where we plan to tour the hotel and grounds...and post photos.

Our group began our day with a visit to the High Desert Museum, where we got close to nature and Oregon's past, followed by lunch at Trout House in Sunriver...fabulous!
After lunch, we braved rafting on the Upper Deschutes River, and everyone survived. We floated through the beautiful Deschutes National Forest, where flows of lava from Lava Lands National Monument shaped the Deschutes River over 7,000 years ago. Towering pomderosa pines and quaking aspens covered the landscape.

The rafting was fun, with everyone getting soaking wet. Of course! Our paddle weary bodies are now ready for happy hour and our easy salad supper. Ben-Gay, anyone?
